WWE Reportedly Already Considering Brock Lesnar Vs. Gable Steveson WrestleMania Match

Steveson signed with WWE last week

WWE officials have reportedly already held initial talks about a potential match between new signing Gable Steveson and Brock Lesnar at a future WrestleMania.

Steveson officially signed with WWE last week, having won an Olympic Gold Medal at this past summer 2020 Tokyo Games, and the 21-year-old will stay on in college while training with the promotion before going full-time next year.

Even though Steveson is yet to even wrestle his first match as a WWE performer, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that the prospect of a match between Steveson and Lesnar at a WrestleMania has been discussed backstage in WWE.

Officials see the bout as a 'passing-of-the-torch' moment that could establish Steveson as one of the biggest stars in the promotion. The amateur wrestling standout is friend of Lesnar's, with both attending the University of Minnesota, and has trained with The Beast in the past.

Lesnar has taken on a mentorship role with Steveson since he was in school, while Paul Heyman has also spoken to Steveson on a number of occasions.
