No Plans For AEW's Kenny Omega Vs. NJPW's Will Ospreay

The two former IWGP Champions have been going back and forth on Twitter

After going back-and-forth on Twitter in the wake of Kenny Omega’s number one spot on the annual PWI 500, there are apparently no plans for Omega and Will Ospreay to face off in a match any time soon.

AEW World Champion Omega and ‘unofficial’ IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Ospreay are said to be actively pursuing the match, but according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are no plans currently for the bout to occur in either AEW or NJPW.

The timing is currently right for a match to happen, given the status of ‘the forbidden door’ with NJPW icons such as Minoru Suzuki and Satoshi Kojima working recent AEW matches, never mind the fact that Ospreay himself is currently in the US to work NJPW Strong tapings.

The two have clashed many times in tag and multi-man matches during their time in NJPW, but have only had one singles bout, back in December 2015 at PWG All Star Weekend 11.
