WWE Reportedly Approached Mike Tyson For SummerSlam 2021 Role

Tyson would have been involved in SummerSlam's opening video package

WWE reportedly attempted to bring in Hall Of Famer and all-time boxing great Mike Tyson for a role in the SummerSlam 2021 opening.

Tyson, who was famously involved in the WrestleMania 14 storyline between Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, was last seen in wrestling as a part of AEW, working closely with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle.

According to PWInsider, WWE reached out to Tyson to see if there was any interest in being a part of this weekend's SummerSlam.

The report claims that WWE wanted Tyson to be the voiceover artist for the video package that will open Saturday's show. The package will be centred heavily around Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his challenger John Cena, who will compete in the main event of SummerSlam 2021, and Tyson would have added gravitas to the production.

However, it appears WWE's attempts to lock Tyson in for a role at SummerSlam were unsuccessful, and there has been no word as to who WWE have got in to do the job instead.
