WWE Reportedly Concerned Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair Will Miss SummerSlam 2021

Will the match go ahead?

The SmackDown Women's Championship match at SummerSlam is currently up in the air.

Bianca Belair is scheduled to defend the title against Sasha Banks at the August 21 pay-per-view, but both women missed WWE's house shows over the weekend.

It was announced during Saturday's live event in Charlotte, North Carolina that Belair and Banks wouldn't be in action due to "unforeseen circumstances." WWE then announced on Sunday in Columbia, South Carolina that the two women wouldn't be on the show, once again citing unforeseen circumstances.

With Belair and Banks missing both shows, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted several sources within WWE are concerned their SummerSlam match won't be able to take place, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Banks and Belair initially faced off at WrestleMania 37, where The Blueprint dropped the SmackDown Women's Title to Belair. Banks went on hiatus following The Showcase Of The Immortals, but she returned on July 30 and attacked The EST of WWE to restart the feud.
