WWE Reportedly Had No Creative Plans For Nia Jax & Eva Marie

18 names were released by WWE last week

Further details have reportedly emerged regarding a number of recent WWE releases, including the likes of Nia Jax, Eva Marie, Lucha House Party and NXT's Oney Lorcan.

As noted, 18 names across WWE's multitude of rosters were cut from the promotion on Thursday 4 November in the latest round of reported budget-saving releases.

According to Fightful Select, there were no long-term plans in place - at least creatively - for two of the names let go in Eva Marie and Nia Jax.

In the case of Jax, who has claimed she was released after asking for an extension to a mental health break from the promotion, Fightful have confirmed that the former Raw Women's Champion had asked for longer off. While WWE had tentative plans for her, there was nothing long-term creatively for Jax.

It was a similar situation for Marie, who was away filming a movie at the time of her release. It is noted that not long did WWE not have anything for her creatively, but there were no long-term plans for her when she re-signed with the promotion back in late 2020.

It is noted that both Oney Lorcan and Gran Metalik have previously asked for their WWE releases; Lorcan in 2019 and Metalik just a few months ago.
