WWE reportedly have plans in place to hold a major pay-per-view event in the United Kingdom in September 2022.

WhatCulture is reporting that Vince McMahon's promotion are putting plans together to place the UK pay-per-view in a major stadium, with a target of a 90,000 audience has been set.

The report also goes on to say that, as well as the major pay-per-view, WWE are putting tentative plans in place for some form of fan event over the weekend as well as presenting the Monday Night Raw taping from the United Kingdom as well.

WWE have run a number of pay-per-view events in the UK over the years but the last was in 2003, when the promotion presented Insurrextion from the Telewest Arena in Newcastle. The most famous UK pay-per-view is, by far, SummerSlam 1992, which emanated from Wembley Stadium and reportedly had over 80,000 people in attendance.

Of course, 2022 will mark the 30-year anniversary of that historic SummerSlam event and it is therefore plausible that WWE could look to tie in this anniversary with the planned show.
