Fans who tuned in to Friday Night SmackDown live last night will have gotten a surprise when they rewatched the broadcast, as the ending to the show looked a little different. The ending of SmackDown featured the General Manager of the blue brand, Nick Aldis, approaching John Cena and informing him that Brock Lesnar had made contact, only for Logan Paul to appear out of nowhere to nail Cena with a punch, before walking off.

WWE re-shot the angle seemingly due to the fact that Paul’s original punch was too far away from Cena, so a different version of the segment was filmed from another angle, with Paul appearing from behind Aldis instead of from the side, with his punch caught by the camera from behind the multi-time world champion instead of in a wider shot.

This way, even if Paul’s punch was botched or a fair distance away from Cena, then the camera would not pick it up. In terms of the rest of the segment, it was word-for-word the same, and it simply just replaced the original version but just from an alternate angle. SmackDown aired live from Dublin, Ireland last night for international viewers, but was shown at normal broadcast time for those watching on TV in the US, giving WWE time to alter the show. Paul & Cena will face each other at Clash In Paris 2025. Cena's retirement tour continues, with just 10 dates remaining - WWE recently announced that Cena's final match would officially be on December 13.
