WWE Returning To Japan In 2024

WWE are heading back to Japan for first time in five years

Despite WWE’s wider international expansion over the last couple of years seeing PLEs be hosted (and soon to be hosted) in the likes of Saudi Arabia, UK, Australia, France, Germany, and more, it hasn’t been since before the pandemic that WWE have held a show in Japan. It was June 2019 when WWE were last in Japan for a live event tour. For context of how much times have changed, the event was main evented by the babyface trio of AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, and Seth Rollins taking on the heel faction of Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley.

It won’t be long before WWE makes a long awaited return to Japan though, as Natalya revealed that the promotion will be returning to Japan later on this year, revealing this when speaking to Good Karma Wrestling, stating that it was one of her favourite places to wrestle and that she was aware of WWE heading there this year.

This revelation comes after Natalya visited backstage at STARDOM’s first US event since 2019. She spoke on how nice it was to see the wrestlers of STARDOM.

“I was actually, just yesterday, at a STARDOM show and I met some of the Japanese women that I hadn’t seen in almost 20 years, like Aja Kong and Kyoko Inoue. I teamed with Aja Kong, I wrestled against Kyoko Inoue. These are legendary, Japanese female wrestlers that are just phenomenal and then I met some of the other girls that were on the show and I was like, ‘I want to wrestle with these women.’ They’re so talented. I would like to win some of the new championships that we have because I haven’t won those. People always say, ‘Oh, you’ve done everything.’ I have not main evented a WrestleMania. I cannot wait to go back to Japan and compete. Japan is one of my favorite places in the world to perform. I know we’re going back there sometime this year.”
