WWE have revived their attempts to trademark 'Edge' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Edge was the in-ring name used by Adam Copeland/Cope during his time with WWE from 1998 until 2023. WWE filed to trademark the term in November 2024, but the filing was abandoned on April 22 after the USPTO did not receive a "timely response" to questions about the filing.

WWE resubmitted their trademark filing for 'Edge' on May 1, though, and the revival of the application is now under consideration:

"The trademark application has been accepted by the Office (has met the minimum filing requirements) and that this application has been assigned to an examiner."

Adam Copeland currently wrestles for All Elite Wrestling. He debuted under his real name in October 2023 at WrestleDream but the 51-year-old switched his in-ring name to Cope upon his return from injury in December 2024.

Cope recently revealed he has pushed back his retirement plans, noting he now intends to end his career around his 53rd birthday in October 2026.
