Adam Copeland - AKA Cope - stated in April 2024 that he believed he had around 18 months left in the ring, suggesting he was set to bring his career to an end as 2025 came to a close. Those plans have since changed, however.

Appearing on TSN 150's First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo, Cope noted his current assumption is he will retire after his contract with All Elite Wrestling expires around his 53rd birthday.

"Not much longer. The schedule is far better than what it used to be. If you asked me to try and pull off over 200 days a year that I pulled before, there is absolutely no way because the recovery takes too long now. I'll have a match and it'll take me a good week to finally start walking normal. I've realised now, I'm 51 years old, I figure I have until maybe 53, the end of this contract, and then it's probably time to call it a day and get out while I can still limp away [laughs]. Lick my wounds and do a whole lot of yoga after," Cope stated.

Adam Copeland turns 53 on October 30, 2026. Cope has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since WrestleDream 2023, joining the company shortly after his exit from WWE.

Copeland was previously retired from 2011 until 2020 due to a serious neck injury. He may have pushed back his current retirement plans due to being out of action for much of 2024 with a broken leg.
