WWE Reviving Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE reportedly set to bring back Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE will reportedly soon revive one of their classic series.

Per Wrestlevotes on X/Twitter, WWE and NBCUniversal are set to work together on a live special that will air on NBC, possibly in December. Whilst no details have been released as to the nature of said event, sources have allegedly revealed tickets could be set to go on sale on Friday, September 13.

Dave Meltzer has since reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the return of Saturday Night's Main Event will be announced in the near future, so that live special on NBC may well be the revival of the classic series.

The relationship between WWE and NBC is long-standing, with the legendary Saturday Night’s Main Event specials in the 1980s instrumental in WWE’s growth into an international powerhouse. NBC aired 29 Saturday Night’s Main Event specials from 1985 until 1991, with the two sides coming together to produce five more specials from 2006 until 2008.

WWE have used Saturday Night's Main Event branding for their house shows since 2022.

The media rights deal for SmackDown on USA Network included four primetime specials to air on NBC
