Why Powerhouse Hobbs Was Backstage At AEW Dynamite

Reason Powerhouse Hobbs was backstage at AEW Dynamite

AEW CEO Tony Khan has revealed why Powerhouse Hobbs was backstage at Wednesday night's edition of AEW Dynamite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Khan said during the pre-All Out media call:

"Will Hobbs has been visiting the doctors. It's been several months of Will Hobbs being out. We're hoping to get him back soon, but I think there's still some time he needs for the recovery. But Powerhouse Hobbs is a huge part of AEW. He's been a great champion here in AEW. He's absolutely one of the most popular stars. And we really look forward to getting Will Hobbs back. I can't say the exact date, but he's definitely somebody in our plans that we want to get going into AEW again soon. And it's been really nice to see Powerhouse Hobbs backstage a couple of times lately visiting us. This wasn't the first time we've seen him, which is a good thing that he keeps coming in for check-ups and is making good progress."

Powerhouse Hobbs has been on the shelf since April when he sustained a "significant" injury in his IWGP World Heavyweight Title match against Jon Moxley. Hobbs has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2020 and he is a former TNT Champion.
