WWE Reviving Saturday Night's Main Event For Upcoming House Shows

No guesses for what day they will be running on

WWE’s legendary Saturday Night’s Main Event is returning… in the form of two upcoming house shows.

Taking place on April 23 and April 30 at the Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama and the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida respectively, these will be the first Saturday Night’s Main Event shows since SNME XXXVI in 2008.

PWInsider stated that "each of those events are still live events, not TV productions, and that this is simply rebranding for the Saturday Night live events taking place post-WrestleMania.”

This isn’t the first time WWE have revived a former TV/PPV special event for a house show, having ran Starrcade events from 2017 until 2019.

Originally airing on NBC in 1985, Saturday Night’s Main Event was integral in turning WWE into a pop culture phenomenon, with the Dick Ebersol helmed TV specials featuring the biggest stars of the time, running for 29 editions until 1991, before two more specials aired on Fox in 1992.

The series was briefly revived on NBC between 2006 and 2008.
