WWE's Alexa Bliss Reportedly Scheduled For Sinus Surgery

Reports have indicated that Alexa Bliss is set to take a period of time off from WWE television, and it appears the reason why may have been revealed.

PWInsider is reporting that Bliss has been scheduled to undergo sinus surgery in the near future, adding further detail to a report from Wrestling Inc. that the former Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion would be taking 'a few months' away from WWE.

Bliss has, per the report, been written off WWE programming since Extreme Rules 2021, where she suffered defeat at the hands of Charlotte Flair. After the bout, Flair destroyed Lilly the Doll, leading to Bliss becoming apoplectic as she left the ring.

Flair has made a point of trying to push Bliss back into her former self, as opposed to the current gimmick, saying after the match: "Ripping up Lilly was a wakeup call. A wakeup call to remind her that she’s still a champion at heart."

With this in mind, there are suggestions that Bliss could undergo a gimmick change during her time away from WWE.
