WWE's Edge: 2021 Might Be My Favourite Year Of My Career

A Royal Rumble winner, WrestleMania event and a trilogy with Seth Rollins

2021 has been a big year for Edge.

The 11-time world champion returned from injury at the beginning of the year and went on to win the Royal Rumble from number one, reuniting with a returning Christian in the process. The Rated-R Superstar then main evented WrestleMania 37 with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan before facing The Big Dog for the Universal Championship again at Money In The Bank. A trilogy of widely-praised matches against Seth Rollins then followed before the WWE Hall Of Famer began a feud with The Miz to finish the year.

Reflecting on all that he has accomplished in 2021, Edge admitted it might be his favourite year of his career so far.

"Been a crazy year. Watching my girls makes leaps and bounds. Pandemics. Ya know the norm. But I lost track of everything that's happened professionally this year. Until Beth reminded me why I'm a little tired. And a lot sore. It's been kinda insane. And awesome. It might be my favorite year of my career," he began on Instagram.

"From The Royal Rumble and a reunion Jay and I both thought was off the table for good. Yet there we were. Getting our dreams back. To winnin the damn thing from #1 after 7 months off rehabbing a torn triceps. 11 years to the day from winning it the first time and joining some elite names. Main eventing WrestleMania 10 years to the day from my retirement against two all time talents in Roman and Bryan. And then there's the Rollins/Edge trilogy. Those three matches will hold a very dear place in my wrestling heart when it's all said and done and I'm whistling on the deck with a cup o joe(or whiskey)," he continued.

"So now what? Keep it up. Try to keep up with today's best. For as long as I can. C'mon 2022 let's do this."

Edge will begin 2022 with a Day 1 pay-per-view match against The Miz on January 1. Other matches on the card include Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title and The Usos vs. The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Title.
