WWE's Shayna Baszler To Work Josh Barnett's Bloodsport

Shayna Baszler will be competing in Bloodsport/GCW over WrestleMania week

It isn’t often that WWE superstars are granted the opportunity to compete outside of the company, but Shayna Baszler will be one of the rare wrestlers who gets the chance to do so. At Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X event promoted by GCW on April 4 on WrestleMania week, it has been announced that Baszler will be in action.

On X, Barnett had this to say on Baszler’s addition to the card.

“What does it mean when a Queen takes up the sword and marches to war?

Blood. Victory. Glory.

From battlefields all over the world - MMA & the @ufc , @WWENXT , @WWE , @wwr_stardom , and more - to now step into a ring she was made for from the beginning.

The Warmaster's disciple, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, comes to Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport X.”

As noted in this post, Baszler is a former student or ‘disciple’ and friend of Barnett. Baszler followed up with her own post about competing at Bloodsport.

“You people merely adopted Bloodsport. I was born in it, molded by it. From Billy Robinson the the gene seed of the Warmaster himself…..BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!! #LimbByLimb”

This follows a recent trend of a few more appearances outside of WWE for certain individuals, with Shinsuke Nakamura wrestling in NOAH, Karl Anderson in NJPW, and Charlie Dempsey in AJPW over the last year or so. In a report on Fightful Select, it was revealed that “multiple” WWE talents would be competing at the event, and not just Baszler.
