have confirmed the news that WWE has signed former IMPACT Wrestling star Mia Yim to a contract. The Mae Young Classic competitor, who is competing in this year's tournament after making it to the Round of 16 last year, has been spotted at the Performance Center in recent times, all but confirming her full-time arrival. Now, however, we have (un) official confirmation of the news.

PWInsider are also reporting that Yim officially started with WWE on 9 September, but at the time of writing, it's unclear whether she's headed for NXT or the main roster - given the countless times we've seen her at the PC, you'd have to guess the former, rather than the latter.

Twenty-nine-year-old Mia made her professional wrestling debut nine years ago, and since then has gone on to represent promotions such as Combat Zone Wrestling, Shimmer, Shine, and TNA - where she garnered the most success in her career to date.

Back in 2014, Yim infamously made a number of appearances as one of Adam Rose's Rosebuds, turning out wearing all kinds of weird and wonderful dresses. During that period she also appeared on an episode of NXT TV, losing to former SmackDown Live Women's Champion, Charlotte Flair.

Fans of last year's Mae Young Classic will have seen Mia make it to the Round of 16, where she was knocked out by eventual runner-up, Shayna Baszler. This year, Yim returned for another shot at the classic and since it hasn't aired yet, I'm not going to reveal how far she got.

No matter what she did achieve in this year's tournament, it's clear that whatever she did, plus an illustrious nine-year run to date, has impressed those that matter within WWE.
