WWE Signs Indy Star Jake Atlas

Rising indy talent Jake Atlas has signed a developmental deal with WWE, according to So Cal Uncensored. The site also reports that the 24-year-old will report to the company's Performance Center in January.

The three-year pro turned heads with his performance at PWG's 2019 Battle of Los Angeles, defeating Jungle Boy in a 20-minute first round match, before losing to Dragon Lee in the quarterfinals.

Atlas also recently wrestled for Ring of Honor, losing to Tyler Bateman at the Death Before Dishonor: Fallout show. He also reportedly turned down offers from both Impact Wrestling and Major League Wrestling.

Other high profile indies that Atlas has worked in recent times include All American Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and in the APW/PWR King of the Indies tournament, where he again lost to Dragon Lee, this time in the finals.

Dave Meltzer noted that while friends of Atlas recommended that he go to All Elite Wrestling due to the greater chance of him being utilized, Atlas' dream was to work for WWE, which he grew up on.
