WWE SmackDown Draws Strong Ratings For Roman Reigns' 1,000 Days Celebration

A big night in the ratings for WWE SmackDown

WWE had a successful night with the June 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

The show was headlined by the celebration of Roman Reigns reaching 1,000 days as Universal Champion and the Tribal Chief was presented with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Title belt before the latest issues within The Bloodline took centre stage. SmackDown also featured more Money in the Bank qualifiers, among other segments.

Initial reports suggested the show had done well in the ratings and it has since emerged that SmackDown averaged 2.563 million viewers on FOX in the United States. That was SmackDown's best rating in 2023 and the highest total audience since John Cena's return on the December 30, 2022 episode of SmackDown.

SmackDown drew a 0.73 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 40 percent from last week. It was also the best rating in the key demo since Christmas Day 2020, a show which had an NFL lead-in. That episode featured Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage Match and Big E defeating Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE were said to be very happy with the ratings. Find out more here.
