WWE Talent's Reaction To Swerve Strickland's Huge New AEW Contract
There has been response in WWE to the news surrounding Swerve Strickland's big money deal
Sep 1, 2024
Swerve Strickland signed a new deal with AEW at the All In: London 2024 PPV, with it being reported by Fightful Select that it is among the biggest deals in the company’s history, on part with huge-money contracts that were agreed to this year with the likes of Mercedes Moné and Kazuchika Okada.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that those in WWE believed that his deal was bad for the professional wrestling world, with it being way above the amount that they would have offered someone of the perceived market value of Swerve Strickland - the same goes for Daniel Garcia’s apparent new AEW agreement too.
Fightful Select reached out to many of those in WWE, with one talent responding and stating that they had not heard of the alleged WWE response.
"I myself haven't heard that, but whether or not it was said, anyone thinking wrestlers will take less money is out of their minds when new TV deals are being announced, sellouts and record numbers are being bragged about."
It is also noted that talent across every major company and independent scene has had a positive reaction to the news of these new contracts.
