Drew McIntyre will put the WWE Title on the line on the first Raw of 2021 on January 4, an episode WWE are marketing as ‘Legends Night’.

The Scottish Psychopath will take on Keith Lee, putting the WWE Championship on the line on non pay-per-view television for the first time since winning the title. Next Monday’s match will not be the first time McIntyre and Lee will clash, with the two having a series of matches in Autumn 2020.

Lee won a number one contenders match on last night’s WWE Raw, defeating Sheamus for the opportunity. With McIntyre on commentary, Lee got the win with The Spirit Bomb after 12 minutes, overcoming two Brogue Kicks from Sheamus before the match had even started.

With recent news of Raw’s declining ratings, a WWE Title defence on TV could prove to be a shrewd move. With Legends Night also set to feature names like Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, it’ll be interesting to see if this will improve Raw’s fortunes.
