The upcoming revival of the American Gladiators TV show will have a strong pro-wrestling presence, as stars from WWE, AEW and the independent scene are set to be involved in it.
Not only will The Miz act as the show's host, but Wardlow and Kamille will compete as gladiators alongside Eric Bugenhagen (FKA Rick Boogs), Jessie Godderz and Jessica Roden (AKA J-Rod). Each one will be given a Gladiator name for the show.
Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that there have already been rumblings of issues over Miz (a WWE star) being on the same show as Wardlow and Kamille (AEW stars).
It was not made clear what the exact issues are and from which side they were coming from, but Meltzer intimated that the producers of the show likely never foresaw any problems with casting wrestlers from different companies. It remains to be seen whether the issue will hinder the production of the show in any way.
It was reported back in September 2021 that WWE were teaming up with MGM on an American Gladiators reboot.
