At the 2026 Royal Rumble event, one of the most notable moments from the men’s Rumble match came in a face-off between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, all ending with Femi being eliminated by Lesnar. Despite this showdown, it was reported at the time that this match was not a 100% lock in for WrestleMania 42, with other reports suggesting that the plan for Lesnar’s original opponent at the event was LA Knight

Brock Lesnar emerged on Monday Night RAW this week alongside Paul Heyman to issue an open challenge for WrestleMania 42, during which he was showered with chants of “Oba”. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is reportedly very much “aware” of the interest from the fans, especially after the live WWE audience in Atlanta, Georgia made it clear of their desire in seeing a match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi.

It is not currently known whether or not WWE will go down this direction, especially in the face of creative plans reportedly changing for The Vision due to Bronson Reed’s unfortunate injury, prompting the masked man storyline to be altered and a reveal of a mystery individual on WWE’s recent SmackDown episode.
