Yota Tsuji Not Interested In AEW Run Until He Is More Well Known Globally

New Japan have clearly earmarked Yota Tsuji for a bright future, but he's not interested in crossing over to AEW quite yet.

New Japan star Yota Tsuji recently spoke to Rolling Stone Japan about various topics, including the possibility of appearing in AEW.

The two promotions have worked together recently, most notably in putting on the two Forbidden Door events. However, Tsuji doesn't necessarily see himself fitting in with this partnership yet, explaining:

"I don’t think so. If I were to get on board at this point in my career, I would be turned into a horse for AEW. To be honest, I still feel that I am not a well-known wrestler in the eyes of the world, and if I go out there, I will just end up being: 'who is this guy?' To be honest, I am not interested in AEW right now."

Tsuji recently returned to New Japan from excursion and made an instant impact, joining Tetsuya Naito's popular 'Los Ingobernables de Japon' stable and challenging IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA for the title. Although SANADA won to retain the belt, the match represented an instant leap up the card for Tsuji.

Tsuji is currently competing in the ongoing G1 Climax tournament, and was asked who he'd ideally like to face in the final. He stated:

"Tetsuya Naito. By defeating Tetsuya Naito early, I want to destroy the image of Los Ingobernables de Japon as Tetsuya Naito."

This seems a curiously inflammatory response given Natio's status as Tsuji's stable leader, although the group itself is known for being contrary, unorthodox and anti-authoritarian, so perhaps it's more appropriate an answer than it might initially seem.
