Zack Sabre Jr. won't be waiting until the Tokyo Dome to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

The winner of the G1 Climax has traditionally waited until NJPW's major Tokyo Dome show on January 4 to challenge for the promotion's top title but Sabre noted following his G1 Climax 34 win that he didn't want to wait that long, instead noting he wanted to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling.

New Japan have since granted Sabre his wish and he will face either Tetsuya Naito or Great-O-Khan for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at King of Pro-Wrestling on October 14. Should Sabre win, he then intends to defend the belt for the first time at Royal Quest IV on Sunday, October 20 in London, England.

Tetsuya Naito will face Great-O-Khan for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at Destruction in Kobe on October 14. O-Khan earned the title win by defeating Naito during the G1.

Naito is in his second reign as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, having regained the title from Jon Moxley at Forbidden Door. Naito is also a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and six-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion.
