Zack Sabre Jr. Wants Bryan Danielson Rematch In England Or Japan
Zack Sabre Jr. wants a rematch with Bryan Danielson on his terms
Oct 3, 2023
All Elite Wrestling’s first ever WrestleDream event gave us a certified dream match with Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr. battling in a technical wrestling clinic to prove who was the best grappler on the planet.
After absorbing a ton of punishment from ZSJ, Bryan Danielson eventually emerged victorious after felling the NJPW World TV Champion with a Busaiku Knee, receiving loud cheers from the Seattle crowd.
AEW later released a backstage post-match video of ZSJ, and the TMDK member insisted he wants a rematch, but in either England or Japan:
"We were supposed to settle something, weren't we? Who really is the best technical wrestler, not in the world right now, but probably of all bloody time? But knocking me out, Bryan, that's a scoundrel move from brittle Bryan. I felt your bones disintegrating in my hands, Bryan. So, I want my rematch because this proved nothing. And we're going to do the rematch in my home turf England or my adopted home turf of Japan. Because I did you the solid, mate, didn't I? Did you the proper solid of coming to Seattle. Submissions in Seattle but you didn't beat me by submission, you chickened out.
"Well Bryan, we'll find out in the rematch who the best technical wrestler in the world is and I'll put you into retirement for good, d***head,” said ZSJ.
Danielson also commented on the match, noting how nothing was settled:
"I'm also a little bit upset if I'm going to be honest because I came into this match thinking by the end of this match we would find out definitively who the best technical wrestler in the world was. And we leave that match and somehow, even though I won, I don't feel like I'm the best technical wrestler in the world because I can barely move my hand. And for me to beat Zack Sabre Jr, I had to knock him the f*** out.
"So, now I'm starting to think that maybe he is the best technical wrestler in the world, maybe he is. But here's the thing, I offered to shake his hand at the end of that match and he refused. So maybe, and we don't know for sure, maybe he is a better technical wrestler than me but here's what I know for damn sure, he can't strike with me, he can't stand with me, he doesn't have the heart that I have, he doesn't have the legs that I have, he doesn't have the soul that I have to go out there and compete,” said Danielson.
Sabre Jr’s comments have excited fans, with some wondering if the two will meet at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2024.
