5 Dream Opponents For The Revival After WWE Release
Who could The Top Guys challenge?
Fifteen months after they first reportedly asked for their WWE releases, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder have finally been freed from the promotion. The multi-time Tag Team champions are apparently free to sign anywhere immediately, due to the nature of their releases, and most would figure that a move to All Elite Wrestling is as certain as sunrise.
The tag team specialists have lots of opportunities outside the confines of WWE, be they in AEW or elsewhere. It's possible that they could sign with AEW, and that their contracts could permit them the right to wrestle for other promotions (like how Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley's deals allow for New Japan bookings). But whatever road Dawson and Wilder (or Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, whatever their new identities end up being) take, hopefully it's to their liking. After all, they've finally gotten the release they've sought for a long time.
Since we here at Cultaholic enjoy a little fantasy booking, let's take a look at some intriguing tag team matches that could be in The Revival's future, both in AEW and out.
5. The Young Bucks
File this one under "duh". The playful sniping between the teams on social media, with "FTR" standing for different phrases (depending on the user), has turned Bucks vs. Revival into a genuine dream match. If The Revival end up in AEW, this match would probably happen sooner rather than later.
It helps that both teams are immensely talented, for different reasons. One can't help but see a little bit of The Rockers vs. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard from 1989 WWF here, and that's a good thing.
