AEW’s reaction to Big Bill’s popularity in the UK revealed
Different wrestling audiences city-to-city country-to-country react to things differently, as evidenced during All In week where the UK AEW fans in Cardiff and London gave Big Bill a rapturous welcome.
Despite Bill being the heel muscle to ‘Learning Tree’ Chris Jericho, the UK fans just couldn’t get enough of the big fella, and according to a report from Figthful Select the ‘insane’ reactions for the former WWE star took many backstage in AEW by surprise.
Big Bill was widely cheered during a singles match with HOOK during the Collision tapings in Wales on August 21, with Bill again loudly cheered during Chris Jericho’s FTW Championship match against HOOK inside Wembley Stadium.
The UK crowds were also very hot for Jeff Jarrett during All In week, with the ‘Last Outlaw’ also given a massive welcome during both AEW shows, Cardiff especially chanting wildly for the former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
It remains to be seen if audiences in the united States and Canada will also react positively to big Bill, or if this was just another case of ‘Bizarro land’ taking over.
