AEW have signed Ace Steel as a coach, with the former NXT trainer having been spotted backstage at recent AEW tapings.

Steel - real name Chris Guy - was backstage at the February 9 AEW: Dynamite, and the February 5 AEW: Dark tapings at Universal Studios. Guy last worked for WWE, serving as a coach and producer from 2019 until being released on January 5 2022.

An indie wrestling journeyman, Ace Steel is best known for his run in Ring of Honor as one part of the Second City Saints, alongside his most famous students CM Punk and Colt Cabana.

Steel has also wrestled several job matches in WWE between 1998 and 2007, eating losses to the likes of Matt Hardy, Lance Cade, Chuck Palumbo, Orlando Jordan, and Southern Justice. Steel also infamously portrayed Donald Trump on Monday Night Raw, in a victory over ‘Rosie O’Donnell’.

Ace Steel was also part of TNA during the early ‘Asylum’ years, wrestling for the Jarretts’ promotion from September 2002 until January 2003.
