Anthony Greene Names Himself 'The Alternative' Following WWE Release

No more "Retro"

Former WWE Superstar Anthony Greene has given himself a new moniker.

Greene enjoyed a brief run in WWE as August Grey from August 2020 until the company released him on June 25, 2021, alongside multiple other 205 Live and NXT wrestlers.

Grey has since abandoned his WWE name and reverted back to Anthony Greene, but he won't be taking up his old "Retro" moniker.

Greene released a one-minute vignette during which he crossed off past nicknames and revealed he will now be known as "The Alternative" Anthony Greene.

"If my career ended, when I was told, 'No,' I would have been done a long time ago. Life is not about pass or fail. It's about how you come back from it. It's about having a backup plan. Having an alternative. Anthony Greene does not have an alternative. I am the alternative," Green said during the vignette.

Before his WWE run, Greene performed on the independent wrestling scene for the likes of EVOLVE, Beyond Wrestling, wXw and Limitless Wrestling.
