Athena Teases Match With STARDOM Champion
The record-breaking ROH Women's World Champion could be adding more gold in the near future...
Reigning ROH Women's World Champion Athena has teased a title match against a current champion of STARDOM. Given AEW and ROH head Tony Khan's alliance with the Japanese promotion, such a match wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility.
Athena responded on social media to a photo posted by STARDOM wrestler Thekla, one half of the current Goddess of STARDOM (tag team) Champions alongside Momo Watanabe. Athena simply wrote "Nice Championship."
Formerly known as Ember Moon in WWE, Athena rarely competes in tag team matches, but would presumably team up with protégé and fellow ROH roster-member Billie Starkz. The pair defeated Queen Aminata and Red Velvet in July, but it was Athena's first tag team match since November 2023.
Athena recently became the longest-reigning champion in Ring of Honor history, her reign recently eclipsing Samoa Joe's 645-day stretch with the men's world title.
