Aussie Open Not Planning To Quit United Empire After Signing With AEW

Aussie Open sticking with United Empire

Aussie Open's future with New Japan Pro-Wrestling became unclear on May 24 after it was announced the tag team had signed with All Elite Wrestling following Kyle Fletcher's International Title match with Orange Cassidy on last week's Dynamite.

There is yet to be any clarity on Aussie Open's status with NJPW but Kyle Fletcher told Dark Puroresu Flowsion that he and Mark Davis will remain a part of United Empire and they see their signings as part of an international expansion for the New Japan stable.

"We're absolutely going to remain in the United Empire. Ospreay & all the boys have done so much for us, it really feels like a brotherhood. If anything it's just the start of a worldwide expansion of the group," Fletcher said.

Aussie Open were IWGP and NJPW STRONG tag team champions but they had to vacate the belts on May 21 due to a torn meniscus suffered by Mark Davis. He is expected to be back in action in around six weeks.
