Austin Aries Wants To Return To Wrestling In A Meaningful Way

What's next for Aries?

Beyond a few appearances for the New Jersey-based Global Syndicate Wrestling and SOAR Championship Wrestling in Texas, Austin Aries has been out of professional wrestling since his run with MLW ended in 2019.

Speaking on the Sportskeeda Wrestling Unskripted Show, the former IMPACT World Champion admitted he would like to return to the industry in a meaningful way. He acknowledged there are only so many spots, though.

"I don't know, I'd like to get back in the wrestling scene in a meaningful way. But right now there's so much talent out there and a lot of guys and girls are looking for work, and there's only so many spots, so we will see what happens," said Aries.

Aries also mentioned WWE haven't reached out to him since he departed the company in 2017, nor does he expect to hear from them.

"No, they did not. I think it was a wonderful experience there. We both got to see what the other had to offer, but I don't think that's a bridge that will be crossed again. I don't personally have any interest in going back there. I'm sure they don't have any interest in bringing in a 43-year-old, under six-foot white guy at this point either."
