Brian Pillman Jr. Pitches Idea For Joint AEW-WWE Show

A tournament in honour of Brian Pillman

While the show is very unlikely to happen at the moment, Brian Pillman Jr. has pitched the Flyin' Brian Cruiserweight Classic, a tournament that would take place at a joint event between WWE and All Elite Wrestling.

Replying to a Cultaholic Wrestling article, Pillman Jr. tweeted: "The Flyin Brian Cruiserweight Classic! Invite New Japan as well. Use clips of Owen, Liger, and pops to promote the history of cruiserweight wrestling. I'll be the guest referee cause I'm like 240 pounds now and probably wouldn't qualify as a cruiserweight lol. Matches would slap! Will, Ricochet, PAC, and Fenix in the semi-finals, don't @ me l!"

Pillman's pitch comes after Tony Khan revealed he would be open to speaking with WWE about a joint show between Vince McMahon's company and All Elite Wrestling. The show is not expected to happen but AEW and WWE have collaborated in a small capacity in recent months, most recently on video messages on Monday Night Raw from AEW talent for John Cena's 20th anniversary.
