CM Punk 'Not That Far' From Full WWE Return

CM Punk not too far from WWE return

CM Punk may soon be wrestling again for WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, CM Punk is "not that far" from an in-ring return and he could be back in time for SummerSlam on Saturday, August 3.

"Punk's not that far from being back most likely. If he had his surgery at the end of January, you're looking at the end of July, August, maybe September. It's not that far away anymore. He might make SummerSlam. And if he can make SummerSlam, Punk and Drew for the title, that makes a lot of sense. Even if he can't, you can do it a month after. Punk will be back fairly soon, it's not as far away as sometimes you think because of that surgery," Meltzer said.

CM Punk has only had one match since his WWE return, having suffered a torn triceps in the 2024 Royal Rumble. Punk sustained the injury following a Futureshock DDT from Drew McIntyre, with the injury becoming the catalyst for the feud between Punk and McIntyre that has seen the Second City Saviour cost Drew the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.

McIntyre may well be World Heavyweight Champion again by the time Punk makes his in-ring return, with Damian Priest stating on Raw that McIntyre can have a title shot when he is cleared for his own in-ring return, having suffered a hyperextended elbow at WrestleMania.

Punk has used 'Cult of Personality' by Living Colour since 2011 and it was recently revealed that he rejected a WWE rip-off version of the song.
