Cody Rhodes Officially Moved To WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes is officially a WWE SmackDown talent

For the first time since he returned to WWE in 2022, Cody Rhodes is no longer a wrestler on Monday Night Raw.

Cody's profile on WWE.com has been changed to reveal he is now a Friday Night SmackDown talent. Rhodes was expected to move to SmackDown full-time following his win over Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40 to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The title has been designated to SmackDown since May 2023, while the World Heavyweight Championship has been the top title on Monday Night Raw since its creation.

Rhodes appeared to bid goodbye to Raw on the April 15 episode, telling Jey Uso that Raw was about to be his and nobody deserved it more. Uso is set to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash on Saturday, May 4 in Lyon, France.

Not only has Cody been moved to SmackDown but WWE have renamed his title the Undisputed WWE Championship. This comes after the 'Universal' portion of the title had been dropped on TV since WrestleMania 40. If the name change will coincide with Cody Rhodes receiving a Winged Eagle version of the Undisputed WWE Title remains to be seen, though.
