Dax Harwood Reveals He Pitched AEW Faction To Cody Rhodes

FTR and Cody Rhodes could have been a stable in AEW

While Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR would end up as part of The Pinnacle for much of 2021 with MJF, Wardlow, and Shawn Spears, the former ROH World Tag Team Champions initially pitched to form a faction with Cody Rhodes in All Elite Wrestling.

After being asked if there were plans to form a new Four Horsemen stable in AEW as Arn Anderson owns the trademark for the term, Harwood revealed there weren't but he did approach Cody Rhodes about forming a group.

"We did talk to Cody a lot about forming a group with him. This was before Max [MJF] came along. We talked to Cody a lot about it. He had Arn, we had Tully, we wanted to create a supergroup with Cody, us two [FTR], and we had some ideas of who could be the other members. Around that time, Brock (Anderson) was starting to come up, and we felt that if Brock were with us, he could stand outside of the ring and watch us, and if we had eight-man tags, he would be able to learn by standing on the apron, getting in for a few minutes and tagging out, and we could talk to him after and tell him why certain things happened. I think Cody really wanted to as well, but I think he was vehemently against being a heel, at least at that time," Harwood said on his FTR podcast.

Cody Rhodes has since moved to WWE and he will main event WrestleMania 39 in an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match with Roman Reigns. FTR had been off AEW TV but they returned at the Revolution pay-per-view to lay out AEW World Tag Team Champions The Gunns.
