Eddie Kingston Undergoes Knee Surgery

Eddie Kingston has undergone knee surgery, almost two months since tearing his ACL and meniscus.

The ‘Mad King’ took to Instagram to share a photo of himself from his hospital bed, simply writing, “Well it’s done. So what up!”

The inaugural Continental Crown Champion of All Elite Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Ring of Honor was sidelined in May, after tearing his ACL, meniscus, and fracturing his leg during a match with Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence in California. The injury occurred when Kingston took an apron suplex through a table at ringside, with Eddie’s leg noticeably smashing into the top of the guardrail.

Kingston had to wait for his leg fracture to heal before undergoing surgery, and whilst Kingston originally hoped to be back in the ring in time for AEW All In Wembley on August 25, it’s likely that he will be out of action until 2025, with Kingston expected to be on the sidelines for a further six months or so at the very least. Conservative estimates have suggested a Kingston return could happen anytime between January and May 2025.
