EXCLUSIVE: Joe Hendry Didn't Expect Digital Media Title Reign So Early In IMPACT Run

After an initial run with IMPACT Wrestling in 2018, Joe Hendry returned to the promotion earlier this year, making his second IMPACT debut in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at October's Bound for Glory pay-per-view. 

The 34-year-old quickly cemented himself as a popular member of the IMPACT Wrestling roster and it didn't take Hendry long to win his first title in the promotion, defeating Brian Myers for the Digital Media Championship on the November 10 edition of IMPACT. 

Speaking with Tom Campbell of Cultaholic Wrestling about being Digital Media Champion, Hendry admitted he didn't think a title win would happen so soon in his second run with IMPACT. 

"I love it. It was totally unexpected. It was one of those things that I was thinking would maybe be a one or two-year thing down the line and here it is. For the company to have that faith in me, to put me in that position this quick, it's a responsibility I take very seriously. I'm just going to continue to up my game in everything," Hendry began.

"I kind of made a promise to myself, it's weird, there was a time where I didn't really have much of an idea of if or when I'd be back in a major promotion. So it was one of these situations where I decided, you know what, I'm going to get as good as I can and just try and trust the process that good things will happen. I watch a lot of television programmes and I think I have something to offer the business, so I just trusted that and worked hard and it eventually came."

Since winning the IMPACT Digital Media Championship, Hendry has defended it in his home promotion but he has also put the belt on the line in Europe, defending it successfully against Trent Seven in Poland and Amir Jordan in the UK.
