Finn Balor Wins WWE United States Title On Raw

Damian Priest has been dethroned

Finn Balor is the new WWE United States champion, defeating Damian Priest to win the title on Monday Night Raw in Columbus, OH.

Balor won the match cleanly in about 11 minutes after hitting Priest with the Coup de Grace. After the match, Priest cut a promo, saying that the fans carried Balor to the championship, before criticizing the fans for not supporting him the same way during his title run. He then attacked Balor and gave him a crucifix powerbomb onto the commentary table at ringside.

The win gives Balor his first ever reign as US champion. On the main roster, he previously held the Universal title, and had two reigns as Intercontinental champion.

Priest's United States title reign ends at 191 days. He won the title from Sheamus at SummerSlam in Las Vegas on August 21.

Balor issued the challenge to Priest on last week's Raw, after being out of action for close to a month. The same night, Balor teamed with Tommaso Ciampa in a win over Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
