Tavion Heights to debut on WWE NXT

A former Olympian will make their WWE debut on Friday, December 2.

WWE announced that Tavion Heights will be in action on Level Up at 10 pm ET. He will go one-on-one with Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo of the D'Angelo family. The match was taped ahead of Tuesday's edition of NXT from the WWE Performance Center.

Real name G'Angelo Hancock, Heights competed at the 2020 Olympics in Greco-Roman Wrestling at 97 kg. He was eliminated after two matches but he did win a gold medal at the 2020 Pan American Championships. He also won a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships.

Heights signed with WWE following the company's tryout in Dallas over WrestleMania 38 week. He was one of 17 recruits who began training at the WWE Performance Center in August.

WWE have looked to the Olympics for talent in the past, having signed the likes of Kurt Angle, Chad Gable, Mark Henry, and Gable Steveson.

Also announced for Level Up is Thea Hail vs. Sol Ruca, and Oro Mensah vs. Myles Borne.
