Update On WWE NXT Originally Being Listed As TV-14 On The CW

WWE NXT aired as a PG product on The CW

WWE NXT's premiere on The CW featured a number of changes for the brand, including a new logo, theme music, and championship belts. Even more changes were initially expected, however, especially after The CW's listing of NXT on TV guides and The CW app noted the programme had been listed as a TV-14 show. NXT ultimately aired as a PG product, as all of WWE's televised programming has since 2008.

Fightful Select's Corey Brennan noted ahead of NXT that WWE NXT production staff and talent were sceptical about the brand switching from PG to TV-14 due to issues it would cause with advertisers on NXT. Talent and staff were also not informed about any imminent shift to change the show's age rating.

The PG presentation of NXT did affect the show as The CW censored chants of "Holy sh*t" during the broadcast. WWE have suffered from censorship issues when airing on broadcast networks, particularly during Friday Night SmackDown's stint on Fox.

The premiere of NXT on The CW featured a title change as Ethan Page dropped the NXT Championship to Trick Williams. This made Trick the first two-time NXT Champion since Bron Breakker in 2022.
