Trick Williams Wins WWE NXT Title On CW Premiere

Trick Williams becomes the new NXT Champion on WWE NXT CW premiere

The new era of WWE NXT has it’s men’s champion, with Trick Williams ending the premiere episode of NXT on The CW by once again becoming NXT Champion.

NXT’s main event saw champion Ethan Page put the belt on the line against Williams, and after the champ nailed Trick with a GTS right in front of guest referee CM Punk it looked like it was all over. However Williams kicked out, and after wriggling out of an Ego’s Edge attempt he blasted ‘All Ego’ with the Trickshot and got the decisive 1-2-3.

Post-match, as Trick celebrated with the new NXT Championship belt, Punk hit Page with a GTS of his own for good measure to send the Chicago crowd home happy.

The win makes Trick the first two-time NXT men’s Champion since Bron Breakker began his second reign in early 2022, and the seventh man in NXT history to have more than one run with the belt - only Samoa Joe has won the title on three occasions. The win also ended Ethan Page’s first reign with the title at the 86-day mark, with Page taking the belt from Williams at NXT Heatwave in July.
