FTW Title Match Set For February 4 AEW Rampage

Ricky Starks will defend the FTW Championship next week. 

In a promo on Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite, 'Absolute' challenged Jay Lethal to an FTW Title match. It was then announced that the match will take place on the Friday, February 4 episode of Rampage. 

Powerhouse Hobbs was alongside Starks for the promo and he also challenged Dante Martin to another match. 

The announcement of Starks vs. Lethal comes after the former ROH World Champion saved Dante Martin from a beatdown by Starks and Hobbs after the Top Flight man's win over Powerhouse on January 12. 

Martin has been feuding with Team Taz since December when he initially joined the group and then turned on them during the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. 

Starks has been the FTW Champion since he defeated Brian Cage for the gold in July of 2021. He has twice successfully defended the gold on TV, in a rematch against Cage and earlier this year against Matt Sydal. 

Next week's edition of Rampage will be taped on Wednesday, February 2 from the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois along with a live episode of Dynamite.
