Gunther's Opponent For WWE Bash In Berlin Revealed

Following his World Heavyweight Title win at SummerSlam, Gunther's first challenger for the belt has been revealed. 

Gunther opened Monday Night Raw, reuniting with Ludwig Kaiser, who had been out of action with an injury. Randy Orton then came out to interrupt Gunther, noting he wanted another shot at 'Der Ring General' at Bash in Berlin due to the controversy around their King of the Ring match. Gunther ultimately accepted the challenge and it will be Gunther vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin. 

The controversy around the King of the Ring final was Gunther won the match with a crucifix pin but one of Orton's shoulders was off the mat due to a botch. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H noted following the match that the finish didn't seem controversial to him but that Orton would likely want to face Gunther again at some point. 

Gunther became World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam, defeating Damian Priest following Finn Balor's betrayal of his then-Judgment Day stablemate. 

Bash in Berlin will take place on Saturday, August 31 at Berlin's Uber Arena.
