IMPACT Wrestling Faction Renamed

A faction in IMPACT has had a reboot

Nothing lasts forever, especially in wrestling, and after having ‘killed’ Eric Young on the December 1 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Cody Deaner was the last member standing of Violent By Design.

It was revealed on the December 8 edition of IMPACT that the group - featuring Kon and Angels alongside Deaner - will now be known as The Design, with commentary calling it ‘an entirely new evolution’ of the former VBD.

Violent By Design was originally formed in 2020, with Eric Young leading Deaner, Joe Doering, and Rhino on a campaign of violence across IMPACT. The group are former holders of the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships on two occasions.

Kon - formerly Konnor of The Ascension in WWE NXT - and Angels - former AEW Dark Order member Alan ‘V’ Angels - joined Deaner in November, before Deaner ousted his former mentor Young, with the erstwhile ‘Super Eric’ believed to be returning to WWE. Violent By Design heavy hitter Joe Doering is currently out of action fighting cancer, and it remains to be seen if Doering will join Deaner and his new vision for The Design when he makes his return.
