Report: Eric Young Returning To WWE
Eric Young going back to WWE
Dec 2, 2022
In a shocking move, Eric Young is returning to WWE according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
The former leader of SAnitY was written out of IMPACT Wrestling on Thursday's show in a vignette at a prison with fellow Violent By Design member Deaner. Living up to the name, Deaner and Young soon got violent and Young ended up being stabbed to death with a shiv by Deaner after EY noted that while he was the creator of VBD, Deaner was the design. The former IMPACT World Champion then urged his protege to "eliminate the sickness" which led to the stabbing.
PWInsider noted the vignette was filmed in secret in Nashville. There is no word on when Young will make his return to WWE.
Young previously worked for WWE from 2016 until his release in April 2020. He enjoyed success in Triple H's NXT as part SAnitY with Big Damo (Killian Dain), Axel Tischer (Alexander Wolfe), and Nikki Cross. The group didn't receive a push upon moving to the main roster, though, and soon disbanded.
Following his WWE release, Young returned to IMPACT Wrestling and he soon became IMPACT World Champion. After losing the belt to Rich Swann at Bound for Glory 2020, Young formed Violent By Design, the stable now composed of Deaner, Joe Doering, Angels, and Big Kon. He added two more IMPACT World Tag Team Title reigns to his collection through the Freebird rule and main evented multiple IMPACT shows, including this year's Slammiversary.
Eric Young was a guest on Desert Island Graps earlier this year. Check out the episode here.
