Jinder Mahal Thanks Tony Khan For Twitter Rant Over Win-Loss Record

Jinder Mahal thanks Tony Khan for his January 2024 Twitter rant

Jinder Mahal has thanked Tony Khan for helping drum up interest in his World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins from the January 15 episode of Raw.

The AEW owner had pointed out The Modern-Day Maharaja’s unfavourable win-loss record on social media prior to the bout, claiming that WWE fans were being hypocritical about his decision to book HOOK in an AEW World Title match with Samoa Joe (on the January 17 edition of Dynamite).

Speaking about the situation with Chris Van Vliet (in an interview recorded prior to his release), Mahal noted his surprise at the situation, saying;

“I was at home, I think it was early in the day. Drew had texted me. I got a bunch of texts in a row and I was like, 'What? I have to see this’. I opened Twitter and saw it [laughs]. Thank you, Tony. You made the match with Seth more interesting. People thought I was going to win it just to spite Tony. I was surprised, everyone stuck up for me, it never happened before”.

Jinder did, of course, go on to lose the match. It was one of the former WWE Champion’s last televised matches before he received his release last week.

GCW are reportedly ‘foaming at the mouth’ to book the 37-year-old.
