Joey Ryan Dismissed From Disneyland Job

Joey Ryan out of a job at Disneyland

Former professional wrestler Joey Ryan (Joseph Meehan) has been dismissed from his job working on the Jungle Cruise attraction at Disneyland, according to the LA Times

Ryan, who was accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment by several women during the Speaking Out movement in June 2020, worked at the theme park on probation for approximately three months until he was recently dismissed when Disneyland decided not to hire him full-time.

A Disneyland spokesperson declined to tell the LA Times if the allegations against Ryan influenced their decision to dismiss him, with the spokesperson simply saying: "Mr. Meehan is no longer employed by us."

A criminal background check is carried out by Disneyland on potential employees but the check did not bring up the allegations against the former wrestler.

Prior to the Speaking Out movement, Ryan performed in IMPACT Wrestling and on the independent wrestling scene, including in his own promotion Bar Wrestling. IMPACT fired Ryan after the allegations came to light and Bar Wrestling was shut down. Ryan tried to make a brief comeback in March 2021 but that was quickly quashed.

Ryan also filed several lawsuits against his Speaking Out accusers. Almost all of those lawsuits were either dismissed by a judge or dropped by Ryan.
