Judge Dismisses Another Joey Ryan Lawsuit

Another of Joey Ryan's (Joseph Meehan) lawsuits has been dismissed, according to court documents obtained by Heel By Nature. Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald of the Central District of California dismissed the lawsuit against three women without prejudice on February 10. 

Meehan filed the lawsuit back on September 24, 2020, and the court issued him an "order to show cause why the lawsuit should not be dismissed for lack of prosecution" on December 7. Meehan met the deadline of December 23 and filed an "application for an extension of time to serve defendants" on December 8, a request which was granted by the court and Ryan was given until February 5. 

Meehan filed a "proof of service of the summons and complaint" on one of the defendants on January 5, 2021, which noted she was served on October 16, 2020, by substituted service and mail. The order to show cause required the defendant's response, though, which was not supplied by Ryan. 

Meehan's lawsuit was, therefore, dismissed without cause. He has the option to re-file as long as the statute of limitations hasn't expired. 

One of Ryan's lawsuits against a Speaking Out accuser was previously dismissed on January 7, 2021. His case against former ROH wrestler Pelle Tsichilis was dismissed and transferred to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania US District Court. Tsichilis currently has a gofundme set-up to help pay for legal fees.
